Dan, also karate and American full contact kick Boxing Black belt 2nd.Dan and Tai-Chi teacher, having trained Martial Arts since 1981.

Mauricio has opened his main Self Defence school in New Zealand on the 7th of December 2002 introducing Sipalki-do Ion Bi Ryu into Oceania Australasia by authorization of the World Federation President Grand Master Soo Nam Yoo 10th. dan.

Relative Work experience includes: Navy University professor, High Schools teaching, Sports and Swimming complexes management, sport clubs trainer, Gyms personal training and diplomatic Bodyguard.

Followed there is some information of the main Martial Art utilized for this program.

My aim is to cultivate genuine human values and to promote the correct application of Martial Arts as a useful life skill and as one way of preventing offensive reaction by gaining self-control and confidence being able to think appropriately when an unpredictable offensive situation arises channelizing intention through the right way only for self-defence.

The technical program was made from a Physical Education and Self-defence perspective all the classes will be following a proper pedagogic and didactic progression of teaching and learning process based on a professional teaching program and it will be tailored to each group’s physical capability requirements and age; the main objective is to provide a very dynamic applied to street self-defence and fitness training including: endurance, power, speed, flexibility, agility and coordination, combining things in an easy way using all body parts including: how to fall and protect yourself, grabs escape, weapon defence from several offenders, evasion and defensive skills without contact, in a respectful and helpful class environment.

Video and Courses Important Explanation:

The learning process doesn’t have anything to do with these demo videos, some of them are illustrative only and they may look too fast, powerful or advanced but any of these techniques weren’t made to be copied or replicated in any way and it isn’t meant for promoting violence in any way but only to demonstrate some possible street situations, controlled escape-response and the power that could be involve in some moves for people to be aware of what could be happen and the importance of self-control because any uncontrolled move could cause unexpected results.

Any technique learned should be taken with responsibility, discipline, dedication and respect to others all the time and they should be used only in the last case of self- defence.

General DEFINITION;

Learning Self Defence will provide the student a sense of helping and respect for others together with a skill for life.  The main objective is to overcome the resistance with just reasonable force only when is required, however the strong sense of personal security obtained by knowing self defence will make a person calm until an assault situation giving him time to think and make the right decision. The aim is to avoid any aggressive or provocative behavior and to learn to control force by applying the right technique with the right timing and minimum force.

OBJECTIVES:

One of the main objectives of learning Self Defence is to develop student’s good moral values like: tolerance, discipline, humility, initiative, intuition, self control, self confidence, respect for others, also good health and fitness habits and intelligence to use the art only for self defence.

Any of the videos or information here detailed should not be used to promote violence or to be replicated without proper training advice.

SPECIAL Advice:

It is strongly recommended to learn Self defence with great responsibility because the power the muscles can generate when the technique is well applied could be greater than we expect.

As can be appreciated in these videos at any level of learning the technique can be very effective and its outcome could be very intensive.

The main objective is to observe the Self Defence rights all the times to avoid uncomfortable lawful outcomes.

SELF DEFENCE Rights:

If the student is developing Self Defence philosophy accurately; he/she will not do anything to an offender, he will look for safety and report it to the appropriate authorities, he/she will try not fight and not provoke a fight, only in the last case of self defence will he/she only use reasonable amount of force justified for the situation to defend themselves or others and without intention to hurt anybody or use excessive force that’s required that could lend to becoming the assaulter.

Brief DEFINITION of the Martial Art:

Sipalki-do is an ancient Shaolin monks art with a fast street self defence system using all body parts including pressure points, grabs, hands and legs counter-attacks, weapons defence from several opponents and more.

Martial Art Brief HISTORY:

SIPALKI-DO is the ancient 56 specialties (Martial Arts) grouped in the legendary 18 unit techniques, dating back over 4300 yrs coming from the beginning of the open hand and meditation styles from the Buddhist monks Shoalin Temples and followed by the old dynasty Ion Bi Ryu of Grand master Soo Nam Yoo 10th.dan.

The style called ION BI RYU is one that is taught by the old dynasty of the Grand Master Soo Nam Yoo and its literal translation is "school of the secrets of the swallow" because of its purity, agility, resistance, and tolerance for all, capacity of fulfillment of its objective and ability to choose its way.

The “DO” (way)

The techniques are followed by "Do" (way) which in a sense is the road of knowledge, including the moral philosophy which is always together with the technique and the idea is to cultivate the attitude of respect and help each other, have humility and develop an overcoming character to be a better person in life.

The Grand Master's BOOK:

In the book of the Grand Master SOO NAM YOO (10th. dan), is wrote that: SIPALKI is an ancient Korean Martial Art that also uses the natural parts of the body and several weapons that were born of the need for defence before there were soldiers better equipped with armament. Its origin goes back to immemorial times and the self defence art is as common to man as eating or speaking.

With time they obtained experience and they discovered that some refinements became effective for the art, one of them is the use of weapons including the art to control parts of the body with the ingenuity of man to transform that into defensive techniques, and employ it with special abilities to fight, this way they obtained food and simultaneously defended against their natural enemies.

In the city of Kyongiu, the capital of the old Kingdom of Silla in Korea, there are two giants faced in a battle position. After almost two thousand years of antiquity, the carvings on the wall of the tower of a Buddhist Temple exist like a testimony of developing legendary arts of battle in Korea. SIPALKI is the translated expression of the Korean word Sib Fal Gui, which means "the eighteen techniques" (each unit has thousands of techniques using all body parts.)

The TECHNIQUES:

1st. technique is called HO SIN SUL which is personal and self defence techniques, including: grabs, pressure points, immobilization techniques, throws, etc.

2nd. technique is called KWOM BOP which comes from the old Buddhist Monk system of combat using open hand, feet, and head attacks and defences combined with angles of movements, positions and meditation techniques.

3rd. technique is called KYO YONG which is the system of combat with one or more than one person including: old forms of movement combinations with self defence strategy etc.

The others 15 techniques are several weapons and the application with open hand in case of self defence, training your speed of reaction, co-ordination, flexibility, agility, strength, mobility, resistance and self control.
